TORONTO, September 24, 2024  – Good evening, everyone.

Well, what an incredible honour it is to be standing here, receiving this award. I want to thank the Women in Payments Conference for this recognition and for creating a platform where our achievements and efforts are celebrated.

I don’t want to take up too much of everyone’s time, but I would like to share a few thoughts. When I think about what it means to be inspiring, I am reminded that it doesn’t always involve being the loudest voice in the room or the most visible person. Inspiration can be found in quiet moments of perseverance, showing up consistently, breaking barriers quietly but resolutely and leading with resilience, empathy and courage.

I have had the opportunity to watch and learn from many incredible leaders and I am here today as a reflection of these women who have inspired me throughout my career.

I’ve observed them, I’ve learned from them, and I’ve taken what I need from them to shape my own style.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. And my hope is that each of you is able to embrace your unique strengths and continue to grow. Everyone here has a role to play in recognizing and lifting up those around us — whether they are loud or quiet, visible or reserved. This is our collective responsibility. And by doing so, we create a more inclusive environment where everyone’s potential can be realized. Let’s celebrate the different forms of strength and leadership and continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, together.

Thank you once again for this incredible honour.
