Payments Canada appoints new Chief External Relations Officer and Chief Legal Officer

Payments Canada announced today the appointments of Andrew McFarlane as Chief External Relations Officer (CERO) and Stéphane Leduc as Payments Canada’s newest Chief Legal Officer (CLO).

With the successful launch of Lynx, Canada’s new high-value payment system, Andrew transitions from his previous role as Executive Director, Modernization, and will now focus on amplifying the work already in progress at Payments Canada. Andrew’s extensive experience in stakeholder relationships will strengthen Payments Canada’s engagement strategy in moving the payments ecosystem forward in adopting modern payments for the benefit of Canadians.

Stéphane Leduc transitions from Director, Legal Services to Chief Legal Officer at Payments Canada. Stéphane brings a wealth of knowledge in governance, payments law, and commercial transactions, in addition to his deep understanding of Payments Canada’s vision for modern payments to his new role.
