Canada's CFO of the year, Pamela Steer, joins Payments Canada executive team
OTTAWA, May 9, 2019 - Payments Canada announced the appointment of Pamela Steer to Chief Financial Officer, effective June 10, 2019.
Ms Steer joins Payments Canada from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), one of the largest insurance organizations in North America, where she led them through a major transformation that resulted in improved financial operations. Passionate about mental health issues, Pamela is a champion for WSIB's first ever mental health in the workplace policy, which included mandatory training for senior leaders and she speaks on the topic nationally and internationally. She is also actively involved in mentoring young women and entrepreneurs. In 2019, Pamela was named Canada's CFO of the Year, which honours senior financial leaders who have made significant contributions to business in Canada with demonstrated quality, insight and integrity.
