Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination for the 2024 Member Advisory Council (MAC). Our call for nominations is now closed. Nominees will be informed of the decision by June 4, 2024.
Interested in becoming involved? Every year we launch a call for nominations, with the official call opening in the first quarter of a given year. In the meantime, should you have any questions, would like to be considered for nomination or want to learn more about the council and the selection process, please contact councils@payments.ca.
How our Member Advisory Council helps shape the future of payments in Canada
The 20 person council provides advice to Payments Canada’s management team and Board of Directors on key elements of the future of payments, and ongoing operations, policies and initiatives dealing with Canada’s clearing and settlement systems; the interaction of those systems with other systems involved in the exchange, clearing or settlement of payments and the development of new technologies.
2024 nominations will be effective July 4, 2024 and terms run for three years.
Who is eligible to be part of the Member Advisory Council?
Our Member Advisory Council consists of individuals who represent the interests of member financial institutions that directly or indirectly participate in at least one of Canada’s payments systems, or who are due-paying members of Payments Canada.
Payments Canada’s broad 110 member base includes direct clearers, group clearers and indirect clearers. When nominating a representative, Payments Canada encourages member organizations to review the eligibility guidelines.
