Liz is responsible for content and engagement for Payments Canada events. This includes The SUMMIT, Canada’s annual premier payment event. For over 20 years, The SUMMIT has been the place to engage with exciting ideas and connect with leaders and innovators from across the ecosystem.
The Payments Canada SUMMIT is returning to the Beanfield Centre in Toronto from May 6 to 8, 2025. It is our privilege and pleasure to bring together the payment ecosystem each year to create space for the discussions that will shape the future of payments.
We consistently work to deliver the most memorable and comprehensive agenda. As Kristina Logue, Chief Financial Officer at Payments Canada, highlighted in her opening remarks at The SUMMIT last May, “[The SUMMIT] is the platform to listen and learn from experts about developments shaping our ecosystem. And, it's the channel to articulate your vision for the future of payments.”
It’s in that spirit that we developed our theme for 2025: Innovate. Collaborate. Transform.
This theme will shape the content, structure and overall experience at the event. It also reflects the forces that bring the payment ecosystem together. It is the answer to the question: What inspires all of us to be in one place, on one occasion each year?
Our programming will invite you to explore the future of payments through the lens of an evolution that turns ideas into action:
- Innovate: Start with groundbreaking ideas.
- Collaborate: Leverage collaboration as the catalyst that drives innovation forward.
- Transform: Achieve large-scale, sustainable change through the combined efforts of innovation and collaboration.
The 2025 theme recognizes that new payment products and services have to be developed in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing environment. For example, leading organizations are experiencing the benefits of a proactive risk culture where product and risk teams work collaboratively. How does innovation become sustainable transformation? Through collaboration. Our theme emphasizes that innovation alone is not enough and that by working together, we transform ideas into meaningful change.
Our goal is to explore this theme through an outstanding line-up of speakers and sessions and also be the place where this path to transformation can be realized.
Returning to Kristina’s opening remarks in 2024, “No matter who you are or the role you play, this is a collective, this is a community and we are all here to make a stronger future in payments for Canada.”
