The 2024 Payments Canada SUMMIT concludes with a shared vision: “Payments for Canada”
Over the course of two and a half days, more than 1,800 delegates and over 300 speakers reflecting the vast diversity and growth within the payment ecosystem gathered to discuss the future of payments at The Payments Canada SUMMIT, Canada’s premier payment event.
A wide range of topics central to the evolution of payments in Canada and around the world were covered, including artificial intelligence, cyber security, resilience, faster payments, consumer-driven finance, ISO 20022 and more.
Garry Foster, Chair of Payments Canada’s Board of Directors, called out the “tremendous collaboration of the ecosystem unfolding for the benefit of Canada” and urged delegates to “carry forward the inspiration and connections cultivated this week” as we navigate the future and its impact on us, our organizations and, most importantly, Canadians.
In closing, Jude Pinto, Co-CEO (Interim) and Chief Delivery Officer of Payments Canada spoke passionately about “payments for Canada” and reminded us why our approach to payments needs to be tailored for our Canadian ecosystem: “When payments are designed with Canada in mind, for the benefit of Canadians, we are not just moving money. We are building something for a stronger, more resilient economy. When we prioritize payments for Canada, we can strike a balance between competitors and collaborators and create an environment for innovators to innovate and businesses to succeed.”
The success of this year’s event would not have been possible without support from the speakers, sponsors, media and marketing partners, and delegates. We look forward to seeing everyone next year at The 2025 Payments Canada SUMMIT, which will take place from May 6 to 8 at Toronto’s Beanfield Centre. Details about next year’s event will be shared in the coming weeks. Subscribe to The SUMMIT newsletter — your source for exclusive updates on Canada’s premier payment event.
